My dad also learned about "living in the sticks" when he listened to his lil grandboys that told him it was ok to go for a walk in the woods! Between the 3 of them there were 18ticks! Yes, my dad is a tick magnet (got him the shirt to prove it lol).

My mom had fun "breaking the rules" with the boys and keeping cool in our pool!
Dylan and I went away for the weekend to celebrate our 6th anniversary. We went to the buffalo river and did the "7 mile float". We had a blast!

My mom and I got Jaxon's room painted and she finished Kazen's room, while I created a tree in the playroom.

"rooted in faith & growing in love" eventually that will be on the wall as well!
My mom bought a bed for her room...

So now it looks like a real room! Lol
We got a call that Dylan's parents were coming out, and we had just a couple days notice. We didnt want to be in the cabin intruding on their space when they came for 2 weeks, so we moved into our house without having water. The first few days we dumped buckets into the back of the toilets so we could at least pee and drove up to the cabin for showers. Then we hooked a hose up to the house, running from our house to the mule barn...took 7 hoses! During this time, Koggle and his buddy Jarred came by to visit on their way to DC. They stopped by for about 12hours, we had a great time! Kyle had never shot a gun, so he loved that! We wanted to show them a true redneck time so we shot a bunch of fireworks off too!

We had a lot of fun, the boys loved hanging out with their uncle Koggle!!!!
A few days later our well was finally dug. It was a huge process and we ended up doing a lot of the work, but we had water! We had leaks in every bathroom under the sinks, but Dylan got them fixed pretty quick! Our shower and bathtub are not in yet, so we had planned on using the boys shower/tub combo. The first night we had water I gave the boys a bath....it wasn't 10minutes later I heard water...in my bedroom! Yep, huge leak!!!! Coming under the wall, coming through the ceiling, coming out through the ceiling fan! So, I got to use my brand new pots and pans for the first time....to catch all the water! We figured out the problem, but it's not fixed yet, and I still have a stained roof in my bedroom and quite a few holes. We are currently using the basement shower(that i didn't want lol). Guess theres a positive to having 4 bathrooms after all! At least we can shower at our house!
Anyway, I have been working non-stop to get my house looking more like a home!

We started our front porch this week also! It's going to be so nice having people come through the front door instead of the basement lol!
Monday night we had a few family members over to celebrate the boys birthdays.

We had a "super" time!!!
On the 4th we attended the annual Scarbrough family fish fry/reunion! There were quite a few pairs of overalls there, way too much sweat, & not enough food! Lol. I only knew about 1/5 of the people there! Crazy! That evening we sang to Kazen and let him open a few presents! It was fun to spend time just the 4 of us!

Can't believe my baby boy is 3!!!! Where does the time go?!?!?
Mr. Jax will be 5 next weekend...I'm just freaking out a lil! Lol
Yesterday we drove Dylan's parents to Nashville to send them off to Cali. Today I am relaxing and enjoying the weather! I'm currently sitting on my front porch watching the rain....BEAUTIFUL!

And you can see our cute lil circle drive! Hahaha! Didn't want people pulling up on the grass or continuing to come in through the basement!!
Anyway, our house still has boxes in some rooms, electrical stuff not done, missing light fixtures, no baseboards, no window frames, only some doors on....but it's our house & we live here now! It feels amazing! We are so blessed beyond words! We will continue to chip away at it and get it done as we can!
It sounds like the last month has been such an adventure for you! Your house looks so cute. I am sure it's been so much work and frustration, but I know the silver lining for you is that you are getting to do it TOGETHER. :) These are things you will look back on and cherish when you're old. I love the "Tick Magnet" thing! Haha, that's what he gets for listening to the boys, huh?
