Heat & Heartache!

This 3-day weekend was CRAZY hot!!!! It was between 90-100 with 5000% humidity the entire time!!!! We hit some good memorial day sales and got a dishwasher, microwave, and a pool! Yup, you read that right, we got a pool! It took Dylan and I about 3 hours to get our redneck sanctuary all set up.....

It was the middle of the day and Sat, and we both were sweating out butts off!!! Once the pool was up, we decided we needed to take it to the next level......

that's right, we built a deck! We used scaffolding from Dylan's shop, cut in half and bolted down a rug, put some furniture up there, and we were go to go!

We started filling it up (it took FOREVER) but lack of water didn't stop us from having fun!

We stayed in that pool ALL weekend long! We even had Dylan's brother and his family over on memorial day to swim!!!

Where we placed the pool was extremely uneven and Monday morning (before our swim/BBQ party lol) we decided that when we were done Monday night, we needed to drain the pool so we can move it to more level ground! The weight with the water was putting extreme pressure on the metal legs! So when we were done (about 5:30) we hooked the hose up to the plug and began to drain the pool! Matt is coming this next weekend so we wanted everything to be moved and ready for him and Kali! This morning I got up and went for my lil walk at 5:30 with my sister-in-law, and the pool was about drained!!! A couple hours later we got some heavy rain and Dylan and I laughed about how the pool would NEVER finish draining if this rain continues! Well the rain stopped for a few hours and when the boys got up from their naps I took them back over to our house (where I spend most my time-unpacking and getting it move-in ready). It looked like the rain was gonna start up again, so they boys and I drove Dylan's truck instead of walking. As soon as we pulled up to the house the heavy rain came pouring down in sheets! Luke (who is doing our tile) came out front to help me bring the boys inside! We still don't have a porch so it's a 4 ft climb in the front door! Not to mention the fact that I was rockin flip-flops& it's all mud right there! I was very grateful for his help! The boys went upstairs and started playing in their playroom. Luke and were standing in the dining room discussing what else needed to get done on the house. I looked out the dining room window and stopped mid-sentence when I saw the trees going crazy and rain EVERYWHERE! The wind was so bad it opened the back doors on my house! Luke and I used a piece of the couch to barricade the doors closed! All of a sudden Luke's helper, Manny came out from my bedroom and said there was a window in the bathroom that was leaking. Luke and I went in there, only to find that ALL the windows were leaking! They were leaking not only where they were framed in, but where the window itself opens! The rain was coming sideways and there was nothing we could do to do stop it coming in. I ran down to the basement and opened the boxes from our trailer and grabbed ALL the towels I could find! We went and dried off the furniture, floors, and walls the best we could, then started on the upstairs, where the water got all over the carpet and just soaked the walls there! Dylan came from the shop with more towels and we all ran around trying to prevent a stinkin flood in my brand new house! I took some towels to the basement and the garage doors were still open, so rain was all over the garage dolor also. I didn't have shoes on and my feet were about an inch deep in mud water! I looked outside and stated laughing about the whole thing....then I saw more damage from this darn storm.....

Yes...that is my pool! Guess we picked a terrible time to drain it, huh? The metal frame is completely bent and broken! We bought the warranty....you think owner stupidity is covered under that?!? SO, not sure we will have our redneck sanctuary ready for Matt after all........

House, house, & more house

Its been hard to find time to write on this blog because I've spent every free minute I have, working on the house!!! It took me two full days, but I got the playroom unpacked....

I'm so happy with how it turned out! I have painting/decorating to do (of course)...but all in good time!

We got all our cabinets in-and I'm so excited! It looks like a house now! Here's a pic of the kitchen...without the tops on...

(I had to take a pic of a pic on Dylan's phone...sorry)

Anyway, the cabinets and tops are in and done in the kitchen, boys bathroom, our bathroom, and utility room. I haven't ordered anything for the other 2 bathrooms yet...just doing a lil at a time! We also have about half our light fixtures installed! Makes a huge difference! We also have about 2/3 of plug-ins and light switches in. So many little things that add up, that you don't think about when you just move into a house!
I started moving Into the kitchen this afternoon! I am pumped! We plan to move in a TON of stuff this weekend! It'll be weird having a furnished house, but not able to live there! You may be wondering why we can't move in....the simple answer is WATER! We are still waiting for our well! The guy has been jerking us around for over a month and we still don't have a definite date! He said...and this is a direct quote-"I've been really busy with the farmers and just haven't had time to get ya residential folks in". Soooooooo if you are wondering when the heck we are moving in-I honestly cannot tell you! Water is kind of an essential component to have in a house! I was really Hoping to be in before Matthew and Kalista (my cousin and his daughter) come out next week-but doesn't like like that's going to happen:(. My parents will be out in 3 weeks...keeping my fingers crossed to be before that-but who knows!

Boring-random! =•]

well the closer my house gets to being "ready" to move in, the more impatient I get!! The tile is over half way done! We will be getting cabinets on Monday-can't wait!!! When we do move in, the windows wont be framed, baseboards will not be in, my bathroom will not have a shower, fireplace will still be a box in the living room, front porch will not be there, doors will not be on rooms, etc! Hoping to be completely done by the end of summer.....BUT, that's fine with me...just so ready to be in there;-)

For mothers day we went to the Memphis zoo. It was fun, but we did get soaked when the rain decided to show up! Heres a before pic of me and jax-

And an after...notice how wet my hat got! Lol-just glad I brought one!

We cut our zoo trip short due to the rain, but it was still a fun family day! Going to the zoo is always a good time with my 3 boys!

I am super exhausted lately! Besides all the company we've had over the last month (ken & Ramona (10 days), my mom(10 days) and then Ramona & Clint(2 days) I've been getting up at 5 and walking with my sister-in-law. We aren't walking too far yet...have to work our way up lol! Not to mention the heat that's popped up lately! It's been in the HIGH 80's with crazy humidity! The heat really takes the energy outta ya!

The boys are still having fun with the kittys...

Pix, pix, & more pix

Random pix......

Dylan and I enjoyed the huge moon last weekend!

Someone gave us a water trampoline. We haven't used it in the water yet lol...

It's a lot of fun...will be even better on the lake!!!

At the park with my boys!

Picking a dandelion

Pretty front yard view (from cabin)

Sunset!!!!

Took the boys to watch their cousin play baseball

More park play!

That's it for now....ENJOY!!! My babies are just too cute!!!

6 pets, 4 people (most of the time)

Ken and Ramona were here for 10 days, we had 2 days off...then my mom came for 10 days!! It's been crazy and chaotic, but awesome as well! My mom is leaving tomorrow-but I worked her hard while she was here! We had to put the final touches in bedrooms and then we got Kazen's room almost done!!! Still needs a little more work on the treasure map and Kazen's name on the scroll!! I'm SO in love with how it came out!!!

Next trip my mom and I will get Jaxon's room done!!!

Our house is looking like a home more everyday! Some tile is down, but no grout yet.

Looking at living room and dining room.

Looking at kitchen!

Looking down the stairs from the playroom.

The carpet turned out amazing, we are so happy with how it turned out!!

In other news...another cat showed up...a little boy-named him Peeta! The craziest thing is how much these kitties are twinzies!!!!

Everybody loves the kitties! Jax calls Rue his cat and Kazen calls Peeta his kitty cat...so cute!!!!!!!! Obviously we have a FULL house, or a farm lol...but as much as I don't like cats, I couldn't let these lil dudes go back in the woods with no mommy!

Living in the sticks is crazy! Last week we found/killed 3 snakes...one of which was in OUR garage...yup-in a brand new house-SCARY!!!!! I HATE snakes! Then tonight when we got back from dinner....

A creeper was hanging out outside the cabin....eeewwwww!!!

He was a big guy too!!! He was slow, couldn't get him to leave!!! He got hit many times with a racket and...nothing...until Dylan kicked it and it flew a couple feet in the air-it was awesome!!!!!!

Everyday on the farm is an adventure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
