Fried food, fish, and fun!

Our house is coming along nicely! We have drywall done (in and textured) primer done and MOST of the paint done! We bought tile and carpet, both going in this week (tile will take a couple weeks tho).

Living room

Looking from kitchen toward front door.
I painted Jaxons room today and (Friday) painted the front room (sitting room) and guest bathroom along with an accent wall where the fireplace will go! I will get kazens room painted tomorrow so my mom and I can paint pirates on it while she's here this week! After that we will paint my craft room and the painting should be done. Woohoo!!!!!

Ssssooooooooo I knew moving to a small town would be different, guess I just wasn't quite expecting such funny things! This weekend is the "worlds largest fish fry" here in our own Paris, Tn! This is a week-long event consisting of demolition derby, catfish races (literally fish racing), hush puppy 5k (for people;), fried catfish (doy), carnival, parade, rodeo, etc. There is literally a HUGE tent that you go in (for a fee) and get all you can eat catfish, hush puppies, and slaw (don't call it coleslaw or you'll get the stink eye)! Lol. Since we are not fish people we didn't eat all that, but we did take the boys to the carnival with Dylan's brother Luke and his kids, and Dylan's mom Ramona (or GiGi).

Jaxon on a "baby ride" lol...he loved it though!

Kazen could have rode all day long!

Riley, Luke's son.

Nate (Lukes son) and Jax on the "big kid" carousel (there were no seat belts so Kazen couldn't go....yes, there were tears!

Jax and Nate on the roller coaster (never-mind those porta-potty's in the background)

Kazen on the choo-choo AGAIN (he rode it 3 times)

Dylan proving he is all that is man (yes, he won a prize).....

Luke also won a prize...and dented the bell! Once again proving, he's the worlds strongest man!

The boys made a new friend at the goldfish game...And GiGi made sure all her grand boys left with a prize......

...which became an investment for mommy and daddy-the fish had to live SOMEWHERE! Jaxon asked for a brown fish and Kazen asked for orange and they cleverly named their fish...orange and brown! The carnival was fun, and I got my annual funnel cake, so I can't complain!!!!
Friday morning we went to the parade. It was pretty much tractors pulling floats! I only got a pic of one float for some crazy reason! It's basically all the queens (from different pageants in the area), people advertising for their business, high school bands, high school football teams, people running for local office, churches, etc. Was fun, think I'm gonna find a way to get in it next year!

GiGi and the boys

We were pretty cold...and according to Dylan in this...hardcore!

Streets lined with people

GiGi, boys, and Dylan watching the parade

Cute 80's float

Next year maybe we will participate in all events...but it was a good start for us this year ;-)

Ken and Ramona were here the last 10 days and my mom is coming in on Tuesday! All this entertaining and I'm not even in my house yet! Lol. Matt will be here with Kali at the end of the month....praying we are in our house then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just trying to keep you as up-to-date as possible! Lol

One of the things my boys love, is checking our mailbox daily. It's an all-out event for us because the mailbox is quite a hike from the cabin. Sometimes we walk (takes about 10 minutes to get there) and sometimes we ride something over there! I was pleasantly surprised to get my SECOND lil care package since moving!!! Ms. Jannae sent a cute package a couple weeks ago with stuff for each family member-super thoughtful! And my Gramma just sent me a daily devotional book!!! I love getting surprises and am grateful to you both!!!!!!

Yesterday we decided to spend the day as a family and just go!!

We headed to Kentucky (like a 20 min drive) where I hit up my favorite flee markets!!! Got a few really cool things for my house, and a couple fun toys for the boys!

Including this awesome batcave!!!!

After that, Dylan suggested we take the ferry to see what it's all about! I had no idea there was a ferry here and had never been on one. It was a short trip across the Kentucky Lake, and poor Kazen slept! Jaxon had fun and had LOTS of questions!

Don't know why Jax keeps putting his hands on his head lol...but chose this pic only cuz you can see Maximus (my truck)!!!

We headed back to the cabin. The boys played with their new toys and after while we went and fed the fish. The boys get more food on the dock than in the water!!

I'm having a blast (hahaha) shooting guns lately!! I'm trying to stay away from my bad habits of emotional/stress eating...so shooting has been a fun outlet! The shotgun is def my fav, but I'm kinda loving the clunky 22...cuz its easy! I'm actually a scary-accurate shot! I feel like maybe I missed my calling as a police officer, FBI agent, or bounty hunter! Ok...maybe not...but I am pretty good and totally loving it! Can't wait to get my own guns!

The 22 I just got done shooting!

Random.....

Got a fun new hat...

Has a removable/wearable mustache...yep...I love it!

Jaxon having fun riding his bike...

Mr. Luke driving the big tractor...

Yep...doin a no-hander! Lol

Millie in the window...

That's it for now from the sticks!!!

Dates & Diets!

Hello my bloggers!!!! Happy Wednesday to ya!!

I went to the local school and picked up Jaxon's registration packet for kindergarten today (tear...sniff sniff). Can't believe my baby is starting school in the fall! time just seems to go by at warp speed when you have kids!!! Here's a cute pic of them pretending they get along lol

Today Dylan and Luke were up before the sun (or roosters for that matter) and headed to Alabama for the day. They had to go check on a job that they have going there. My sweet man brought me back a lil treat from Nashville......

....it's been over a month since I've had one of these amazing treats!!! Yes, Nashville is 2 hours away, yes, all the ice was melted, and yes, it was still AMAZING!!!!

Tonight was awesome...first date night since we moved to no-mans-land!!! Luke and April watched the boys for us and took them to their church (our church doesn't have Wed night services)! It was so nice to have a lil break! We went out to eat (and ate annoyingly healthy-diet=blah) then went to see the hunger games!!!! I've been wanting to see this movie since march 23(the day it came out lol). I've read all the books and was super excited. Though the movie was very well done, I feel like it missed some key things from the book! If you haven't read the book yet...I highly recommend reading it before the movie!!! Anyway...it was a great night! I am thankful to have people to count on to help with the boys!

I did mention the dreaded diet!! I figure if I put it on here...there's lots more accountability, right?!? So Dylan and I worked really hard Aug/Sept/Oct and lost a lot of weight. THEN we decided to pick up our lives and move across the country!!!! Well, I am an emotional/stress eater....so I gained back all my weight...plus 7 lbs!!! Horrible!!! SO now we are back in nazi diet mode...I'm planning on dropping all 25lbs...down 5 so far...20 to go!!!

Let's do this =•\

House & Headaches!

It's been a crazy week! We all were sick last week, just head colds, but it made for a rough week! Then yesterday I was down with a migraine all day...awful! Anyway.....This past weekend we sold our trailer and Dylan's quad. Bitter sweet! At least now we have cash in our pockets to get more done on this house. The drywall guys are almost done!! Once its all up "the finisher" comes in and does the texture and stuff! I'm beyond excited! I am probably driving them crazy just hovering...straight up helicopter status! Lol! BUT...it makes the house look so different-actually like a house!!!!!! Once its done, I can start painting...FINALLY, something I can do to help the process along!
Also, the dirt guy has been here all week and now we don't have ugly piles of dirt everywhere! He's done an awesome job leveling things out & cutting out our driveway!!!!!

House with dirt!
The boys are good! Kazen is completely out of diapers and ONLY wears pull-ups at night! He's doing awesome with his potty training! Also, these kids LOVE subway...we get it at least once a week for lunch...they enjoy getting all orange from chips!

Rockin their John Deere hats daddy got em!!!
The boys are super excited to see gramps & mema this weekend! Looking forward to a fun (but quick) Easter trip! We made bunnies this morning to help decorate the cabin for Easter.

Their footprints are the ears, and they tore paper to make the eyes and nose!
Gotta get goin, lots to do before my parents arrive...will post pix after their trip!!!!!!!
Happy Easter to all, and to all a good night! (I know, wrong holiday lol)
